Assignment:

You will work with the youth in a personal, responsible, yet professional manner. You will work alone awake at night with a child/youth, and your task is to create safety during the night so that the child/youth can sleep well. Your ability to remain calm and clear-headed in challenging situations is of great importance for this position.

Our target group is youth of varying ages, who, in addition to social issues, often also have one or more neuropsychiatric diagnoses. Additionally, the youth may have other psychiatric symptoms or diagnoses where outwardly aggressive behavior and anxiety issues are common. Therefore, your ability to remain calm and clear-headed in challenging situations is crucial for this position. A degree of persistence and resilience is also beneficial in the work.

Scope: Approximately 75–80 %

Location: Hörby

Working hours: Rotating schedule, awake nights.

Start: By agreement.

Employment type: Permanent position with a 6-month probationary period.

Requirements

• Work experience with children and youth with neuropsychiatric disabilities
• Experience working awake nights
• Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Driver's license (B)

Meritorious

• Education as a social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, or similar
• Training/courses in neuropsychiatry
• Training/courses in trauma-informed care
• Knowledge of preventing and managing threats and violence
• Experience working with challenging behaviors
• Knowledge of low-arousal approaches
• Experience with documentation in journal systems
• Knowledge in MI (Motivational Interviewing)

Personal qualities:

As a person, you have a pedagogical approach. Furthermore, you have the ability to build lasting relationships, where you can switch between setting boundaries and showing your care and warmth!

You have a good ability to stop, redirect, extinguish, divert, and motivate children and youth with challenging behaviors. Additionally, you maintain a professional approach when interacting with the child/youth, considering your own impact on the child's/youth's behavior and feelings. You have a genuine interest and curiosity, as well as a strong desire to work towards the goals set in the implementation plan. You are a responsible person who approaches your tasks with great care and commitment.
